Q&A Skin Needling with DermaPen4

Q: What is Skin Needling?

A: Skin Needling is a treatment causing controlled trauma to the skin. The Dermapen4 creates up to 1920 micro punctures into the skin per second in which triggers the skin’s natural healing response.

Q: Why should we create trauma to the skin?

A: Trauma naturally triggers a healing response within the skin. When the skin is under trauma, it produces white blood cells & macrophages, which are responsible for creating growth factors in the skin and attract other immune response cells to fight bacteria and DNA damage. This process continues on by then creating new connective tissue and the production of new fibres and proteins within the skin - which we know as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

Q: Who is needling beneficial for?

A: Skin Needling can compliment almost all skin types and conditions. We can use needling to strengthen the dermal matrix, so great for volume loss, textured scarring fine lines and wrinkles. Hyperpigmentation (sun spots/age spots) can also be disrupted by the skin needling process, breaking the pigment into smaller formations, making it easier for the lymphatic system to remove. Also amazing for our post-acne client’s to reduce post-inflammatory pigmentation (red/purple). Your skin can almost always benefit from this treatment as we are delivering hydration and promoting new cell activity!
