Morpheus8 Launches at Orèa

At Orèa, we are thrilled to be able to bring you the worlds leading radio frequency-skin needling technology.

Morpheus8 is procedure to remodel, repair and rejuvenate the skin and subcutaneous fat tissue of the face and body.

The Morpheus8 technology treats a vast range of concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, pore size reduction, stretch mark reduction and remodelling adipose fat tissue in areas such as submental (double-chin), abdomen and thighs.

Morpheus8 encourages cell renewal and strengthens the fibro-septal network which firms, lifts and tightens the skin on not only a superficial level, but a deeper level in comparison to your standard skin needling treatments.

Morpheus has the ability to treat up to 4mm deep for areas such as the face, and 7mm deep on subcutaneous layers such as the abdomen.

The Morpheus8 device has insulated needles, which means the RF energy is delivered directly to the specific layer where the indication is being targeted. This means that the thermal energy is providing the heat only where required, and not causing thermal damage to the surrounding layers, resulting in less downtime & more effective results.

Morpheus8 3D Body is still using your Morpheus8 technology however is designed for specific, deep fractional coagulation of subcutaneous tissue (fat). Morpheus8 Body with 3D Smart Frame and Burst technology provides up to 8mm of deep treatment (thermal profile of 7mm + an additional heat profile of 1mm).

Being the worlds deepest RF Needling treatment,

Morpheus8 is compared to a non-surgical & non-invasive face lift.

FAQ’s

  • Is Morpheus8 / Morpheus 3D painful?
At Orèa we use topical anaesthetic for the Morpheus procedure to ensure your comfort. Our Registered Nurse may administer a Local Anaesthetic for 3D Body treatments in which we are treating 5mm-7mm into the tissue.
Directly after the procedure there is no pain, just heat within the skin and slight sensitivity.

  • Is the treatment safe?
Morpheus8 is performed by our Senior Dermal Therapist or Advanced Cosmetic Nurse - both hold all Infection Prevention qualifications and are very well versed in all skin needling and RF treatments.
All relating contraindications are discussed during the consultation process.

  • Can this treatment remove facial fat/volume?
The biggest misconception with Morpheus8 is that it will ‘dissolve facial fat’ and therefore create volume loss.
At Orèa we offer both the Morpheus8 Face applicator and 3D body applicator. Generally speaking, the face applicator is used on delicate areas where we are targeting tightening & lifting - when performing rejuvenation (face) we are only treating to depths
of 3mm. The subcutaneous fat layer for most individuals sits around 3.3mm beneath the visible surface of the skin.
4mm or deeper is only performed on areas in which we intentionally want to reduce the subcutaneous fat layer (such as jowls or double chin).
3D Body is ONLY performed on areas where the subcutaneous layer is excessive such as lower abdomen, thighs etc.
If the procedure is performed within the correct parameters then the answer is NO - it will not remove facial fat.
When having a Morpheus8 treatment, ensure that your practitioner has the relevant qualifications & understanding of the skin anatomy.

  • Doesn’t numbing cream reduce the results?

    NO…

    a) Topical Anaesthetic:
Quite frequently, numbing creams are avoided when performing collagen induction therapy, because it is heard to ‘alter’ the treatment results due to the restriction of blood vessles. When working with Morpheus8 we aren’t looking for petechiae (blood spotting) to occur. The clinical endpoint of this treatment is erythema (redness) and mild inflammation - the RF energy converts to heat within the skin and therefore the clinical endpoint is always reached, regardless of the topical numbing cream.
Numbing cream may cause blanching of the skin which is where we see a blend of pale/red tones occurring and for some, may be hard to determine if the redness is caused by the clinical endpoint, or just the numbing cream, therefore, we ensure that regardless of blanching, the entire area is thoroughly treated to give you the best possible result.

    b) Local Anaesthetic:

In some cases, such as 3D body treatments, our Registered Nurse may recommend administering a local anaesthetic to the treatment area to ensure your comfort.
This will not alter the results of your procedure!
As we know, fluid within the layers of skin tissue acts as a conductor of heat. When we deliver the RF energy to the Dermis or Subcutaneous layer, the local anaesthetic fluid makes for even greater heat distribution, which creates a better environment to foster collagen synthesis, perhaps leading to better results!
